Moon jellies are hated by fisherman and revered by marine biologists. They feed on mass amounts of zooplankton, which can significantly alter an area’s marine ecosystem - and thus impact the amount of spawning fish. They can live in a wide range of temperatures, salinity levels, and water flow rates, making moon jellies a good invertebrate to study.
