Spotted Cleaner Shrimp (Periclimenes yucatanicus)

Unlike other “cleaner” species, the spotted cleaner shrimp does not go out searching for food. When hungry, it stands out in the open and tries to attract passing fish by wiggling its tail and waving antennae around. A paying customer will get a nice bath as the shrimp dines on their dead tissue, algae, and parasites.
