Bermuda’s infamous sand is composed of tiny bits of eroded coral reefs. Up close you can find beautiful little pieces of corals, clams, sea urchins, forams, and other calcium carbonate shells! The beaches have a pinkish hue, which comes from the skeletons of dark red foraminifera that live on the underside of the surrounding coral reefs.
